How to Choose a Blogging Platform
I have talked about a beginners choices for a host for their first website. Perhaps, you are an experience blogger, and now want to create a website to try to earn a little extra cash. Certainly one of the best platforms for such activity is WordPress.
WordPress is a great tool for website design because it features a huge selection of tools to assist you in creating your website, and it is available at a great price - free. After choosing the platform, you will then want to select a theme, or a "public presence" for your website. You can search all over the Internet for suitable themes which number in the thousands. Then you research to find plugins that will work with the theme and accomplish some of the specialized tasks you might want.
Or you can do what I decided to do some 5 months ago. I purchased a professional theme called Semiologic Pro. Semiologic Pro is different than other themes because it comes complete with some 80 plugins for newsletters, media players, image handlers, search engine optimization, a WYSIWYG editor with spell checking, and much more.
Semiologic Pro , however is not free. The cost for the package which includes the latest version of WordPress, tweaked for maximum workability is $295.00. For this sum, you can install on any number of websites that you own, and get unlimited upgrades and technical support from a forum frequented by many knowledgeable users and authors. At the end of the year, you can continue the free upgrades and support for an annual reduced rate.
If you would like additional information, or perhaps interested in purchasing the program please click the ad under the peel-away ad in the upper right corner.
